Single Serve Coffee Maker Accessories

Not long after our new Keurig B70 arrived we started brewing up a storm. For the first time ever, my wife and I could just grab whatever flavor we fancied and brew it up in short order. We cleared out the old coffee maker and tried to pack our collection of Green Mountain k cups into the cupboards in some semblance of order. It soon became obvious to us that this was not a very workable solution. We really needed a way to grab the flavor we wanted without tearing everything apart and putting it back to together in that cupboard. Back to the laptop.

About two minutes of searching and I faced a “Duh” moment. It was only logical that someone had already solved this problem. Two clicks later and our Keurig K-Cup Carousel Tower was on its way. This really is the perfect solution for anyone who likes to have a variety of coffees, teas or even cocoa at hand. It’s really quite sturdy and very easy to move around. We store in on the counter by the coffee maker and then pull it out on the island or table when company is over. It holds 30 k cups, so we can pack a pretty good variety in there and our guests can spin it around and pull out their favorite flavor. Cupboard storage problem solved.

Then we got to thinking about other possibly useful accessories for our new coffee maker. We had a pound or two of ground coffee still in the cupboards, a bag of whole beans in the pantry and another in the freezer. We couldn’t just throw all of it away! It got us wondering if there was some way we could use all of our remaining coffee with the Keurig. I noticed that one of the most common items sold with the model we bought was the Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter. Pure genius. It holds a couple of tablespoons of coffee, and really is pretty easy to take apart and clean. Definitely more hassle than the K Cup, but we feel better that we aren’t wasting any of our coffee. One minor issue is that there is a bit of splashing where the coffee comes out the bottom, but it’s not too big a deal.

So in a short couple of weeks, we managed to completely change the way we brew coffee. If you haven’t seen it yet, please take a look at our recommended single serve coffee maker page. I’m sure you’ll find a product there that will work as well as ours has for us.
